Young actors take audience-goers to African savanna with Disney’s ‘Lion King, Jr.’ | Free Press

Youth Theatre Director Jim Cagle invites audiences on a journey to the savannas of Africa as Youth Theatre Program participants continue planning for a performance of Disney’s “Lion King, Jr.” to take the Reif Center stage in March.

Celebrating its third production, the Youth Theatre program is a Grand Rapids Players/Reif Center collaboration which began in January 2017 and led to such performances as “Little Mermaid, Jr.” as well as “A Seussified Christmas Carol.”

The cast for the “Lion King” performance includes participants in grades three through 12, for a total of 55 actors.
