Tropical Storm Kirk moves into eastern Caribbean

MIAMI, USA — The centre of Tropical Storm Kirk moved into the eastern Caribbean Sea on Friday, with wind gusts to tropical-storm force possible over the Windward Islands and the southern Leeward Islands during the course of the day. Tropical storm warnings have been discontinued for Barbados, Dominica, Guadeloupe and Martinique.

A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Saint Lucia and a tropical storm watch is still in effect for St Vincent and the Grenadines. These watches and warnings will likely be gradually discontinued later Friday. Interests elsewhere in the central and northern Lesser Antilles should continue to monitor the progress of Kirk.
