Tropical Storm Kirk forms off African coast


Tropical Storm Kirk has formed off the coast of Sierra Leone and will trek westward over the next week. Kirk is the eleventh named storm of the 2018 season.

NHC forecasts keep it at tropical storm strength as it crosses the Atlantic over the next week. It is projected to make landfall along the Lesser Antilles by Friday.

Kirk does not pose a threat to the U.S. over the next eight days. No impacts will be felt in eastern Carolina.
