Trinidad: Passengers evacuated from Caribbean Airlines plane

(CMC) – A Caribbean Airlines (CAL) aircraft with 63 passengers and four crew members was withdrawn from service on Wednesday after apparently developing trouble while on a schedule flight to the sister isle of Tobago.

CAL Communication Manager Dionne Ligoure confirmed that one of the airline’s ATR-72 aircraft had been evacuated and that the reasons for the incident were still being investigated.

“There was an emergency evacuation of flight 1526 this afternoon at the Piarco International Airport as the aircraft started and proceeded along the tarmac, the crew had caused to activate the emergency activation drill.
