Trial begins for CVS employee accused of killing manager


WARRENTON, Va. – In July 2017, Rex Olsen, 64, was found shot to death behind the CVS he managed on Blackwell Road in Warrenton, Va.

Days later, his then 76-year-old co-worker Bernard Duse of Alexandria was arrested.

Monday, marked the first day of Duse’s five-day jury trial in Fauquier County Circuit Court.

Court documents allege Olsen and Duse allegedly had a strained relationship because Olsen testified unfavorably, when Duse filed a civil claim against CVS.

Olsen had been conducting an internal employment-related investigation into complaints against Duse.

Decades before Duse arrived at CVS, the Harvard graduate sued IBM and and multiple executives for alleged discrimination, breach of contract, invasion of privacy and trespassing.
