The world pays tributes to African icon and diplomat, Kofi Annan


Tributes to former UN chief, Kofi Annan have started pouring in. Africans joined the world to condole with the Annan family and celebrate the life and times of the  Ghanaian diplomat who died early Saturday in Switzerland. He was 80.

Annan was the was the first black African and the seventh secretary-general of the UN between 1997 and 2006 and won the Nobel peace prize for his humanitarian work.
