The Pan African Parliament is led by a corrupt president – Julius Malema

EFF leader Julius Malema, who was sworn in as a member of the Pan African Parliament (PAP) on Monday, said the institution was led by “a corrupt president”.

Malema was speaking at the EFF media breakfast today, where he said PAP president Roger Nkodo Dang was corrupt because he refused to release a report on the parliament’s financial state.

He said that had led to the election of the parliament’s new president being halted.

“We cannot elect someone into office, and yet they are not aware of the state of the parliament,” Malema said.

He reiterated his view, which he shared on the day of his swearing in, that the parliament should have much more than an advisory role and that it should hold the African Union (AU) and leaders across the continent accountable.
