WASHINGTON, USA — Representative Eliot Engel, ranking member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, on Monday responded to US President Donald Trump’s tweet that he would be cutting off or substantially reducing aid to Central America in retaliation for the so-called migrant caravan that is attempting to move through the region heading for the US border with Mexico.

“Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador were not able to do the job of stopping people from leaving their country and coming illegally to the US. We will now begin cutting off, or substantially reducing, the massive foreign aid routinely given to them,” Trump wrote in a tweet.

Trump Voters Think Men Face More Discrimination Than Women, LGBT People, And African Americans, Survey Finds

The results of the poll also point to an increasingly polarized electorate.

Trump Voters Believe Men Face More Bias Than LGBTQ People

A new poll that surveyed 1,500 American adults found that nearly half of Trump voters in the sampling believe men face more discrimination than women, African-Americans, Mexican-Americans, and LGBTQ people.

The survey, published by YouGov/The Economist and conducted October 16-18, asked respondents, “How much discrimination do the following people face in America today?” — the options included groups like Mexican-Americans, Jews, Muslims, African-Americans, immigrants, Native American people, women, and LGBTQ people, and respondents chose between “none at all,” “not much,” “a fair amount” and “a great deal.”

The results revealed that 49 percent of Trump voters believe men are up against either “a great deal” or “a fair amount” of prejudice. Trump voters believe the following groups…

Some polls have indicated that Trump’s approval rating among black voters is close to 20 percent. That is far higher than the 8 percent of the African-American vote that Trump received on Election Day 2016.

A recent, admittedly controversial Rasmussen Reports poll showed African-American approval of Trump at 36 percent.

Even 20 percent African-American support for Trump would all but dismantle Democratic Party presidential hopes for 2020. Hillary Clinton…
