Trump National-Security Adviser Unveils New Africa Strategy

“China uses bribes, opaque agreements, and the strategic use of debt to hold states in Africa captive to Beijing’s wishes and demands,” Bolton said. He added that its investments are not only corrupt, but don’t meet U.S. environmental or ethical standards. The new strategy, he said, would benefit both America and African nations.

Bolton’s remarks, in which he called China’s actions “predatory,” suggest that Africa is likely to become the latest battleground between the U.S. and China, which have clashed on a range of issues over the past two years. The Washington Post reported Tuesday that the Trump administration was planning to call out China for a campaign of economic espionage and hacking; add to that an increasingly costly trade war…

Trump administration’s new Africa strategy takes sharp aim at China, Russia

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration on Thursday announced a sharp refocus of its Africa strategy to counter what it called the “predatory” practices of China and Russia, which are “deliberately and aggressively targeting their investments in the region to gain a competitive advantage.”

National security adviser John Bolton laid out the new strategy in remarks at the Heritage Foundation, saying the U.S. will now choose its African partners more carefully. He took special aim at China, accusing it of wielding “bribes, opaque agreements, and the strategic use of debt to hold states in Africa captive to Beijing’s wishes and demands.”

Russia, he alleged, is also “seeking to increase its influence in the region through…

Pastor Donté Hickman invites Trump to revitalize Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WBFF) – In a meeting at the White House today, Baltimore Pastor Donté Hickman invited President Donald Trump “and any investors” to use Baltimore as a “demonstration project for a national urban revitalization strategy.”

Hickman, who leads the multi-site Southern Baptist Church, had originally invited the president to come to Baltimore as part of a roundtable about the federal administration’s new Opportunity Zone and Urban Revitalization Initiative.

Trump had agreed to come to Baltimore Wednesday, but that plan was cancelled, and the meeting instead took place at the White House today.

“Mr. President…and any potential investors, I want you to know that we in Baltimore, and in particular East Baltimore, have the plan, we…

Black Voters Still Don’t Like Donald Trump

Donald Trump said a lot of preposterous things while running for president in 2016. But for my money, this was the most preposterous thing of all:

Speaking before another largely-white audience in a town whose population is 93 percent white, Trump said, “And at the end of four years, I guarantee you that I will get over 95 percent of the African-American vote. I promise you. Because I will produce.”
