Royal Caribbean Cruises (NYSE:RCL) issued an update on its FY19 earnings guidance on Wednesday morning. Former Virginia Gov. releases statement on Northam yearbook photo


RICHMOND, Va. (WDBJ7) — Former Virginia Gov. Douglas Wilder releases a statement in response to Gov. Ralph Northam’s controversial yearbook picture from 1984.

From 1990 to 1994, Douglas Wilder served as the 66th Governor of Virginia. Wilder was the first African American to serve as governor in the U.S.

In Wilder’s statement, he said it will be up to Northam to resign

First African American Governor of Virginia releases statement on Northam

RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) — The list of politicians criticizing Governor Northam continues to grow as he is embroiled in controversy.

On Friday, photos came to light of what appears to be the governor and someone else dressed in blackface and a KKK robe.

Now, many influential figures are calling for his resignation.

Earlier on Saturday, 66th Governor Douglas Wilder shared his thoughts on the issue. Wilder was the first African American governor for the Commonwealth, and served from 1990-1994.
