Tickets for Virgin Voyages’ First Caribbean Cruise Now Open for Everyone

Virgin Voyages’ inaugural season is officially on sale to everyone.

The company’s first ship, the adults-only Scarlet Lady is scheduled to set sail from Miami to the Caribbean beginning in April 2020. The four- and five-night itineraries will include stops in Havana, Cuba; Costa Maya, Mexico and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

Bookings for pre-sale deposit holders opened on February 5.

Break Bulk and Project Freight Routes Change Port

UK – CARIBBEAN – An international Caribbean ocean shipping service has recently unlocked multiple routes to the Port of Hull, handling thousands of tonnes of break bulk and project cargo per year. Europe Caribbean Line (ECL) represented in the UK by Baltic and European Shipping, saw its first call at Associated British Port’s (ABP) Port of Hull this month, with over 300 tonnes of heavy vehicles and industrial components exported to Guyana, Suriname and Trinidad.

The well-established line has relocated to Hull after over 15 years of continuous services running previously from Ipswich, to bolster customer accessibility in the Humber, Midlands and Northern regions, whilst continuing to serve the rest of the UK.

Mastercard to open office in Kingston

Global payment company Mastercard is setting up an office in New Kingston during the first half of 2019, as part of plans to strengthen its presence in the Caribbean.

The Jamaica office will focus on sales and market development.

Mastercard said its Caribbean expansion is “a clear sign of the region’s importance to the company, which plans to continue working to build an innovative payments ecosystem offering consumers secure and convenient solutions”.
