The Essex named to US News & World Report’s Best Hotels List for 2019


Vermont Business Magazine The Essex, Vermont’s Culinary Resort & Spa, was recently named to the US News & World Report’s “Best Hotels List” for 2019. The Essex is part of Benchmark, a global hospitality company, which had 22 of its luxury hotels and resorts recognized US News. The exclusive hotels spanned leading destinations in 15 states and the Caribbean and are part of the company’s Benchmark Resorts & Hotels and Gemstone Collection brands.

The honors included three Silver Badge winners that placed in the Top 30 percent of all ranked luxury hotels within a destination. They include Villas of Grand Cypress in Orlando, which placed 13th in the Orlando-Walt Disney World market. Top luxury trains in the world revealed and South Africa made the list


The report – which looks at the travelling trends of the wealthy – compiled a list of the global wealth and migration trends over the past ten years. In short, how the rich prefer to spend their money.

One of the sections of the report looks at luxury travel and lists the top five luxury trains preferred by the billionaires and multi-millionaires of the world. The results were extrapolated from interviews with top-end travel agents, and by tracking the wealthy’s movement in the media.

The Blue Train, which reached the coveted third spot, was only beaten by The Orient Express in Europe and the Eastern & Oriental Express in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

Joseph Kabila, DRC’s only living ex-prez joins African peers: LIST


Whereas some countries boast up to five former presidents – be they democratically elected or military rulers – others can count none.
