Despite his long tenure, Ritchie’s rise up the ranks to become, in effect, Sewing’s number two has been rapid. He was named co-head of the investment bank alongside Marcus Schenck in July last year, and has only served on Deutsche’s management board since January 2016, shortly after being bumped up to lead its global markets business following the exit of Colin Fan in late 2015.
