Caribbean Entertainment – This Grammy Singer Is Set For This Caribbean Carnival

News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Feb. 15, 2018: A Grammy-winning singer is set to be part of the Carnival celebrations on one Caribbean island this month.

Singer Ashanti, known for songs like “Always on Time” and “What’s Luv?,” is set to perform in Trinidad and Tobago on Feb. 25th at soca star Machel Montano’s Carnival Monday event.

The event, themed ‘We Are The Greats,’ is set for the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain from 6 p.m.

Rum & Reggae Festival to bring a huge Caribbean carnival to Newcastle


It drenched Newcastle in sun and plenty of rum last year and the Rum & Reggae Festival will return to Tyneside bigger and better this summer.

The weather might not be anything like summer at the minute but the event’s return Newcastle is sure to warm the cockles.

We’re hoping that by the end of June we won’t needs to have our cockles warmed but if British summertime is anything like it normally is, we’re not ruling that out!

Calabar carnival showcases African story with dances, drama

WHEN Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, revealed that the 2018 Calabar Carnival was a platform to showcase Africa to the world, not many believed what was in store for  participants and tourists.

In the last 14 years that the state government has been organising what has become the biggest carnival in Africa, no two editions have been the same as there is always something new to look forward to. With the theme for this year as Africanism, Gov. Ayade said: “We are here to tell the African story ourselves. Africans have a platform to use the opportunity of this dance and drama to tell the African story in a way that we know.”

Why Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian Cruise Line Stocks Fell in December


What happened

Shares of the major cruise ship operators Carnival (NYSE: CCL) , Royal Caribbean (NYSE: RCL) , and Norwegian Cruise Line (NASDAQ: NCLH) all trailed the market last month. Each lost at least 13%, while the the S&P 500 slumped 9%, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence .

Those declines put each stock at a 52-week low, with 2018 losses standing at 18% for Royal Caribbean, 20% for Norwegian Cruise Line, and 26% for market leader Carnival. That compares with a broader market that shed 6% for the year.

Carnival Dream Loses Lifeboat | Cruise Law News


A lifeboat broke free from the Carnival Dream in the Gulf of Mexico as the Carnival cruise ships was sailing back to New Orleans on December 30, 2018, according to a travel agent on the ship.

Mum’s Travel Blog reported that a lifeboat sheered from the davit hook and fell into the water around 2:00 p.m. yesterday. Fortunately, there was no one in the lifeboat at the time.

Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruises Delayed By Heavy Fog


Unusually heavy fog is wreaking havoc on several cruises set to sail today out of Tampa. As a result, several ships are seeing their departure delayed and their itineraries altered.
