FC Barcelona Unveil African Signing



FC Barcelona have officially unveiled an African star as their second January signing.


The Blaugrana shocked many when they announced that they had signed Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng on loan from Sassuolo on Monday.

The 31-year-old has joined the Catalan giants in an initial loan deal, which can be made permanent for a fee of €8 million (R126 million) at the end of the season.


Boateng, who scored five goals in 15 appearances for Sassuolo in the first half of the campaign, passed a medical on Tuesday and was later presented by the club in a press conference.


He was given the No. 19 shirt at Camp Nou and discussed which position he will play at his new club.

Kevin-Prince Boateng set to join Barcelona on loan


Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng is close to signing for Barcelona on loan from Sassuolo, according to SkySports.

The fee is reported to be in the region of €2m with an option to buy at €8m with Barcelona ready to complete the move very soon.

The 31-year-old joined Sassuolo from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer and has notched five goals in 15 appearances this season.

Watford have opened talks with Lyon over the availability and signing of Ivorian star Maxwel Cornet, report SkySports.

Spanish giants FC Barcelona could reportedly turn to an African star as a replacement for a player who could leave the Camp Nou in January.

The Blaugrana signed Senegal right-back Moussa Wague for their reserve side at the beginning of the season, with the hope the 20-year-old will break into the first team sooner rather than later.
