Table Talk: Taste Bay hoists sales of Caribbean food in Columbus – News – ThisWeek Community News


Without a long trip south, central Ohioans can only dream of the warm sunshine and sandy beaches of the Caribbean.

Island fare, on the other hand, isn’t too far away.

Taste Bay International & Caribbean Food, specializing mostly in regional Caribbean cuisine, has opened in the former Firehouse Subs location at 1132 W. Henderson Road in northwest Columbus.

Owner Miler Montoya emphasizes that most of the food will not singe the tongue with spices.

“It’s not all spicy,” Montoya said. “We have a lot of flavor in it. It has to be spicy so you can eat it but not so spicy you can’t eat it.”

One of the more lively entrees is the Jamaican-style jerk chicken.
