South African family closes Longmont cycling gym after being told to leave country by immigration officials

A family of three South Africans who arrived in Niwot last year on temporary legal status shut down their Longmont cyclist training gym business this week after being told to leave the country by U.S. immigration officials.

Roland Nel, 40, was shocked when he received a letter this month from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services that said he and his 6-year-old daughter, Seren, had both their applications for an extension of stay denied and had 180 days to leave the country.
