Richard Sterne leading South African at Portugal Masters, Lewis claims second title


Englishman Tom Lewis won the Portugal Masters for the second time on Sunday, finishing three strokes ahead of compatriot Eddie Pepperell and Australian Lucas Herbert at Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course.

Lewis was nine strokes off the pace set by Hebert after an opening 72 on the first day’s play.

He went into the last day trailing the Australian by two strokes, but carded 66 in his final round to get to 22-under and claim victory in Vilamoura.

The 2011 champion struck four birdies on the front nine to turn in 31, and suffered his only blip on the par-four 10th when he went one over, but recovered with two more birdies on the 11th and 13th holes.
