President Uhuru Kenyatta Scoops Top African Award

President Uhuru Kenyatta has scooped the 2018 African award on transport and road infrastructure.

The Africa Road Builders announced Uhuru the winner of this year’s Babacar Ndiaye in recognition of railway, road, air as well as countrywide street lighting projects done by his administration.

Speaking during a ceremony held in Dakar, Senegal on Friday, the President of Media for Infrastructure and Finance in Africa, Adama Wade said the Mombasa–Nairobi standard gauge railway has had immense impact on the country’s transport sector since its completion.

“The SGR has reduced costs of travelling between the two cities by half and at the same time taking half of the time for the trip,” he said.
