People claim ‘A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving’ is racist

WASHINGTON (ABC7) — The classic holiday cartoon “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” has come under fire due to claims of racism.

After ABC aired the annual special, many took to social media to express their outrage over African American character Franklin sitting by himself on one side of the table while white members of the Peanuts gang sit on the other during the Thanksgiving meal.

Several twitter users pointed out Franklin sits on his own while even Snoopy the dog gets a seat on the other side.

However, others, like Capital Gazette reporter Phil Davis, called attention to the fact that Franklin sits at another table among the other characters.
