Pan African Parliament Sitting Opens


The session, under the theme, “Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa’s Transformation,” is running from 7-18 May.

The sixth ordinary session of the fourth Pan African Parliament (PAP) opened, Monday, in Midrand, South Africa, with the swearing in of 72 new MPs to the continental legislature.

The session, under the theme, “Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa’s Transformation,” is running from 7-18 May and will discuss the role of Parliament in realising health and achieving health targets for Africa.

The MPs will also address issues of press freedom; the report on the African Union on combating corruption and the report on action on albinism in Africa.
