Opinion: Black history deserves more than a month – Entertainment & Life – The Intelligencer

A Reality panelist from Pennsbury High School writes about the need for the history of African Americans and other minority groups to receive more attention in classrooms.

Black History Month ended two weeks ago, which means the spotlight that was temporarily on African-American matters is back to the same old, same old until next year.

Those snippets on prominent African Americans shown on the morning announcements at school will be placed back into their spot in the storage cabinet. And, as usual, issues related to people of color will be disregarded and forgotten until the next MLK Day rolls around.
