New business draws support for African-American owned businesses in Nashville

A local woman has come up with a way to support African-American owned businesses in the Nashville area. Her initiative, similar to a Groupon, is called Black Business Boom.

Gordon’s in Antioch has been open a couple months, but like many new places in Nashville, it’s been hard to drum up business.

It’s why they have signed up with Danielle McGee, the creator of Black Business Boom. The concept is much like Groupon.

“Each business will decide how much they’d like to discount their product or service. It’ll be on the site for consumers to purchase,” McGee said.

The focus is on getting people in the doors at African-American-owned businesses, a sector she says has a lot of potential revenue in Nashville.
