National Park Partners offers walking tour of Chattanooga’s African-American historic sites

A local organization whose mission is to preserve the history and culture of Chattanooga’s national parks will offer a free walking tour this week.

Organizers with National Park Partners and the Bessie Smith Cultural Center will lead a guided walking tour of African-American historic sites on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m.

The walk is offered through a 2-year partnership between the National Park Service and the Bessie Smith Cultural Center thanks to an NPP grant through a program called “Centennial and Beyond” from the National Environmental Education Foundation.
