MOUNT OLIVE TWP. – Students in Janet Polizois’ second grade class at the Chester M. Stephens School have been reading biographies of famous Americans.

Polizois extended the unit to study key eras in American history, according to a story on the district website.

The biography of Helen Keller triumphing over unimaginable obstacles with the help of Annie Sullivan gave students an appreciation of hard work and the will of the human spirit, the website said.

“She had an inspired life,” said student Ryan Mendoza.
