Moruga fisherman to appear in court

A Moruga fisherman was due to appear before a Princes Town Magistrate charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.

According to a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), 21-year-old fisherman Kendel Singh of Blas Cha Cha Trace, Basse Terre, Moruga, was arrested by officers of the Moruga Police Station during an anti-crime exercise on Thursday.

Officers of the Moruga Police Station were conducting enquiries at the Gran Chemin Fishing Depot on Thursday Aprul 12 when they had cause to stop and search a man.

The search resulted in officers finding and seizing one Armadeo Rossi revolver with two rounds of .38mm ammunition.

Sgt. Deodath Seepersad of the Moruga Police Station laid the charges.
