CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -

The Jefferson School African American Heritage Center in Charlottesville is hosting an event showcasing creativity and diversity.

The Maupintown Film Festival is set to begin Friday, July 13. It highlights issues on a local and a national level.

Mayor Nikuyah Walker and former-Mayor Charles Barbour are scheduled to host a discussion about the changing attitudes of race over time in Charlottesville on Saturday, July 14.
