Marin’s racial challenge is to be more equitable

In response to the Aug. 1 article on the incident in Sausalito involving alleged racism, and in response to the hundreds of comments posted since it has been published, I’d like to suggest that Marin County desperately needs to have a dynamic and timely conversation about race.

It is actually not important to me what the facts are about the incident. What is important and clear to me is that it highlights the facts we do know. It is a fact that Marin County is the most racially disparate county in the state, according to the Race Counts study.
