Lost Mothers—Pregnancy-Related Mortality Among African American Women

Earlier this month, Lori Tremmel Freeman, CEO of the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) discussed the rising maternal mortality rate particularly among African American women and offered strategies to improve maternal health.

NACCHO’s mission is to advocate for health and equity to combat disease and improve the quality and length of lives for everyone.
