[LISTEN] New Visa regulations could change the face of South African tourism


In the African Report, #WeekendBreakfast host Africa Melane spoke to Unathi Henama, a lecturer at the Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Tourism Management about the new Visa regulations.

Unathi Henama says that the tourism sector is at the center of the economic policies in South Africa.

He adds that on the 25th of September 2018, the Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba will be briefing the media on the changes that have been made to Visa regulations.

Henama says that South Africa does not have an open sky.

He adds that countries like Mozambique and Zimbabwe, have declared open skies.

Henama says that this means other airlines from around the world can fly into countries like Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
