A lion that mauled a woman to death in South Africa is being looked after by a man known as “the lion whisperer.”

The unnamed 22-year-old woman died on Tuesday at a tented camp in the Dinokeng Game Reserve near the capital Pretoria, where animal behaviorist Kevin Richardson keeps a number of the big cats. 

An ambulance service spokesman told South African website News 24 that bystanders had begun CPR when paramedics arrived, but the woman died at the scene. He said police have begun an investigation.

In a Facebook post, Richardson wrote: “We are deeply saddened and shocked by the death.”…
