Julius Malema sworn into Pan-African Parliament, slams “old” leaders



The Pan-African Parliament (PAP) Is not exactly well known to South Africans. That all changed on Monday, though, as EFF leader Julius Malema was sworn in as an MP.

Malema, Mandla Mandela, Thoko Didiza and Chairperson of the national council of provinces Thandi Modise, were all sworn into the 255-member institution.

The new members of the PAP will represent South Africa and have committed to assisting in strengthening the role it has regarding the role it plays in representing 55 African Union states.

“It is always important to be part of a collective, the African collective needs to work together legislatively,” the ANC’s Modise said in an interview with the SABC.
