Hurricane Isaac is currently a Category 1 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson wind scale.

Meteorologist have, however, said they cannot rule out Isaac strengthening to a Category 2 hurricane later this week.

Isaac is the fifth hurricane of the 2018 Atlantic season.

With maximum sustained winds of 75mph it is moving westward towards the Lesser Antilles islands in the Caribbean Sea.

The hurricane was located roughly 1,300 miles east of the Lesser Antilles as of early Monday morning.

Isaac is showing little change in strength for now, but the weather system can still bring heavy rain and strong winds to the islands.
