Guyana’s President seeking medical attention in Cuba

Guyana’s President is travelling to Cuba to seek medical attention, according to the Minister of Social Development, Amma Ally.

On Monday, the Ministry of the Presidency in announcing Granger’s visit to Havana gave no details, except to state that he would be accompanied by his wife and should return on November 11.

But the Guyana-based online publication, Demerara Waves Online News quoted Ally Tuesday as indicating that the Head of State is going to Cuba for a medical “investigation.”

Ally, who is also the government’s chief whip, said that President Granger is not expected to undergo surgery but is due for a medical test in Havana.
