Gabon coup may be a sign of African governments being forced to change

There was an attempted military coup in Gabon on Monday morning.

According to reports, five soldiers took control of the national radio station at 4:30am local time announcing that they were there to restore national democracy to the country.

In a video circulating on social media, three young soldiers can be seen in a radio studio wearing military fatigues and holding guns.

A government spokesperson in Gabon said that the situation is currently “under control” and the four men have been arrested with the fifth still on the run.
