Former South African president to speak at Calgary Petroleum Club

CALGARY—One of South Africa’s most famous former presidents will be addressing the Canadian Energy Executive Association on Thursday.

Frederik Willem de Klerk is due to deliver a speech at the Calgary Petroleum Club in downtown Calgary on lessons his country has learned about change and transformation, and how to apply them to the worlds of politics and business.

He said he also hopes to attract Canadian investment in South Africa’s economy at the event.

“The main objective is to get people involved in energy in Canada (at the speech). The leaders of the industry,” de Klerk told StarMetro on Tuesday.
