Enel awards one more S African wind contract to Vestas

November 1 (Renewables Now) – Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has won another order from Enel Green Power in South Africa, this time for the 148-MW Oyster Bay wind farm.

The contract includes the supply, installation and commissioning of 41 units of V117-3.45 MW turbines in 3.6 MW Power Optimised Mode, and a 5-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement. Delivery and installation are scheduled for the second half of 2020.

Two weeks ago, Vestas announced contracts for Enel’s Karusa and Soetwater projects in South Africa, each of 147 MW. The new order brings Vestas’ total announced order intake from the latest South African auction to 441 MW.
