Educator speaks about racism | Local

Educator Mona Heern considers racism to be similar to cancer.

Just as cancer damages certain parts of a person’s body, racism damages certain bodies of people, hurting the system and stopping it from reaching full health.

Heern, an online professor for Murry State University and an Iranian immigrant, presented this idea during her discussion, “Racism: America’s Most Challenging Issue,” at an event hosted by the Pocatello Branch of the NAACP.
