Ecobank links SMEs to 33 African markets

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can access 33 African markets after Ecobank launched a networking platform for its 12.8 million customers to trade across borders.

Ecobank Kenya executive director Humphrey Muturi said the platform dubbed Emerald Ecobank Business Club offers SMEs direct linkages and a seamless base for Kenyan businesses to interact with their counterparts across the continent.

“As a Pan-African bank, we recognise the pivotal role that emerging businesses play in growing our business in the 33 African countries and would wish to see them grow with us,” said Mr Muturi who also heads Ecobank’s Commercial portfolio across East Africa.
