Donald Trump Thanked Kanye West for “Doubling My African-American Support Numbers”

President Donald Trump still has Kanye West on the brain. CNN reported that Trump spoke for nearly an hour at the 2018 National Rifle Association (NRA) Annual Meeting in Dallas, Texas, covering a wide range of topics, including the second amendment, arming teachers, North Korea, the 2018 midterms, immigration, and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. Trump also gave a shoutout to Kanye, who became one of his most vocal and visible supporters last week after he tweeted a photo of his autographed Make American Great Again hat.

“Kanye West must have some power because you probably saw: I doubled my African-American support numbers,” he said at the meeting in Dallas, according to The Hill. “I went from 11 to 22 in one week.” He added, “Thank you, Kanye. Thank you.”
