Disneyland finally reopens Pirates of the Caribbean ride

Disneyland quietly revealed it has completed its long-awaited update to the infamous bride auction scene in its Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

The ride was shuttered in April to give the theme park’s ‘Imagineers’ a chance to finally rejigger the ride, which had featured a scene of a woman being auctioned off for marriage to a host of leering pirates since 1967.  

‘Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland park is back from refurbishment — just in time for summer,’ according to a low-key post on Disneyland’s official blog.
