Cryptocurrency comes to the Caribbean TCI urged to be a part of the conversation

ON APRIL 5, the Caribbean region took a major step into the future of financial transactions, with the signing of an agreement with blockchain technology company, Bitt Inc.

The Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO), the region’s tourism development agency, entered into the agreement with the company, with an aim of facilitating the implementation of a more efficient payment processes for tourism-related products and services.

The two organisations signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) last week at the CTO’s headquarters in Barbados.

The MOU will facilitate the promotion of Bitt’s digital wallet and merchant applications to help foster broader economic participation in community-based tourism and related sectors.
