CASTRIES, St Lucia — Following the recent partial demolition of the historic Royal Gaol in Castries through yet another ‘no bid’ contract by the government of Saint Lucia, the Saint Lucia National Trust (SLNT) obtained an injunction stopping the work from the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, which has now been upheld pending a further hearing on October 8, 2018.

The Castries Prison is possibly the oldest structure in the capital and therefore of historic significance.
