‘Christmas Everlasting,’ ‘The Holiday Calendar’ And More Feature Greater Cast Diversity

It’s a complaint Hallmark Channel had been aware of for years: Lack of diversity. While the network’s holiday movies are extremely popular, the vast majority feature white protagonists.

In 2017, William Abbott, president and CEO of Crown Media Family Networks, Hallmark Channel’s parent company, told IBT Times that the company planned to improve its diversity in movies in the future, saying the network had recognized the problem and worked to improve it.
