Cedar Creek students visit National Museum of African American History and Culture | News


In conjunction with Cedar Creek High School students’ annual excursion to the Holocaust Museum, 51 students visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. in honor of Black History Month.

The students had the opportunity to travel back in time via the museum “time machine” and experience the life of African Americans through slavery, colonization, the American Revolution, the Civil War, Reconstruction, the Harlem Renaissance, World War I, World War II and the Civil Rights Movement.

In addition, they also viewed interactive exhibits about pop culture in the African American community including sports, television, dance and music.
