Caribbean Premier League: Hetmyer’s record century leads Guyana to 71-run win over Tallawahs

Shimron Hetmyer became the youngest centurion in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) history as he led Guyana Amazon Warriors to a huge 71-run win over Jamaica Tallawahs in Florida.

Thanks to Hetmyer’s 49-ball 100, his maiden century in the format, Guyana put up a challenging 209/7 after opting to bat first and then a collapse saw their opponents losing their final eight wickets for just 35 runs to be bowled out on 138 in 16.2 overs.

Tallawahs began their chase in an aggressive manner with opener Kennar Lewis hitting three fours in the very first over before being caught off the final delivery on 14.
