Caribbean Carnival fever with a Latin twist takes over the streets of Leicester

Leicester city centre was alive with the vibrant colours, sounds and tastes of Africa, the Caribbean and South America as the 2018 edition of the annual Caribbean Carnival hit the streets.

Latin rhythms and Samba beats fused with Calypso, African drums, dance hall, reggae and Hip hop to 80,000 revellers in the mood.

Costumed bands from seven UK cities got the party started as the traditional parade weaved its way through the city centre today.

It is the 33rd year Leicester has hosted the event, which is now one of the biggest and best in the country.
