Caribbean American Teen Claims Triple Gold At CARIFTA Games


Caribbean American teen and Florida high schooler, Brianna Williams, is now a triple gold medalist.

News Americas, NASSAU, Bahamas, Tues. April 3, 2018: A 15-year-old Caribbean American teen and Florida high schooler is now a triple gold medalist.

Briana Nichole Williams, running for her parents’ homeland of Jamaica at the just concluded 2018 CARIFTA Games in the Bahamas walked away with the three gold medals for her adopted country.

Williams won the Girls 100 Meter Under 17 Dash in the fastest time for a 15-year-old, at 11.13; beating back Jaida Knowles of the Bahamas who was way behind at second in a time of 11.68.

Williams, an Oakland Park Northeast Florida High sophomore, also won the 200-m under 17 dash on Monday in a time of 23.11 and helped Jamaica to a gold in the…
