Former Princeton Township Mayor Jim Floyd, died at the Brandywine Senior Living facility in Princeton, May 14, according to his son, Michael. He was 96.

Floyd was Princeton’s first African-American mayor. He was elected to the township committee in 1969.

Floyd was born in March 1922. Born in Trenton, he moved to Princeton in 1946.
