BET founder Robert Johnson Praises Trump’s Economy

BET founder Robert Johnson praised President Donald Trump’s economic policies for promoting employment of African-Americans and narrowing the racial economic divide.

During an interview on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Johnson explained that in light of the January Labor Department report, “you have to say something is going right.”

“When you look at African-American unemployment … you’ve never had African-American unemployment this low and the spread between African-Americans and whites narrowing,” he said.

Johnson, whom CNBC identified as a Democrat, said the low African-American unemployment rate signals that companies are employing people who were previously out of the labor force partially because of discrimination, education, access, and technology changes.
