Battery metals boom brings new strategic direction

Minerals and metals researcher and consultancy Roskill has forecast that demand for cobalt will increase tenfold in the next 10 years; and this has seen the DRC emerge as a hot destination for cobalt-copper exploration and project development.

AIM-listed African Battery Metals (formerly Sula Gold) has consequently shifted its primary focus from iron ore and gold in Sierra Leone to its recently acquired cobalt-copper deposits in the country says CEO Roger Murphy.
